"Fitz"
Best of Breed
Fitz was named after our first Fitz. Honey Fitz was our first Irish Wolfhound "heart-hound" and our first Wolfhound champion. Fitz excelled in obedience. He was a fast, happy worker. He finished his UCD with a 196\200 in all breed competition. His American CD was earned with placements in all breed competion and classes of 40. He loved to work and heeled like my Golden Retrievers, fast and happy. He was Highest Scoring Dog in Trial at IWAWC and became number one obedience Wolfhound in the U.S. He received an Award of Merit at IWAWC for his many titles. Fitz finished his U.S. conformation championship easily, winning Winners Dog and a 5 point major at the Puget Sound Specialty. He finished with a 2nd five point major. A certified therapy dog, Fitz loved to go to nursing homes and became a regular at several nursing homes. He earned a Carting title, performing an international set of requirements and is the only Wolfhound to ever attain a CRT, a Carting title. Trained through Open obedience, at his death he was working on his 9th title and had 2 legs on his UCDX . He was a fantastic retriever. Fitz could do it all and did!
